What makes commercial CCTV different
A home system can often be judged by whether it covers the front, rear and side access. A business system has more pressure on it. The footage may need to show a face at a counter, a number plate at a gate, staff movement through a stock area, or what happened at a loading bay weeks after the event.
The system only earns its keep if the clip can be found and exported when you need it. That means camera placement, recorder capacity and user access matter as much as the camera model.

Cameras need to identify someone at the counter or entrance, not just show a wide view of the room. We also make sure the people who need access can search and export footage without waiting for an engineer.
Coverage over movement
Loading bays, gates and external yards need attention to angles, lighting and recorder capacity. A camera that misses the vehicle approach or overwrites too quickly is false economy.
Designed with the rest of the building
Commercial CCTV often sits alongside access control, door entry and business alarms. Looking at the whole building avoids paying twice for cable routes, power, or awkward access.
On compliance. If your cameras cover staff, customers or public space, there are data protection obligations. We will flag the practical points during the survey. The recorded footage belongs to you, not us.

Frequently asked questions
How long should a business CCTV system keep footage?
It depends on the number of cameras, resolution, frame rate and drive size. We size the recorder around how far back you need to search, rather than leaving you with footage overwritten before anyone asks for it.
Can staff view cameras on a phone?
Yes, where the system supports it. We set remote viewing up with you and check that the right people can view playback and export clips before we leave.
Do you cover CCTV signage and data protection?
We will point out the practical obligations during the survey, including signage, retention and being able to respond when somebody asks for footage of themselves.
