Repair before replacement
An alarm that keeps going off, will not set, or has lost app connection does not automatically need replacing. Most faults are specific: a battery, a detector, a tamper circuit, a damaged cable, a panel past support, or a system that was never set up for the way the building is now used.
We will tell you when a repair is the better spend, including when that means a smaller job for us.
Common faults we look at
- False alarms and nuisance activations
- Low battery, tamper and zone faults
- App or notification problems
- Panels that need reprogramming after building changes
- Old systems that need taking over from another installer
- Texecom, Pyronix, Ajax and other wired or wireless alarms
Taking over an existing alarm
Make it usable again
A home alarm often stops being used because it false-alarms, is awkward to set at night, or was designed before the house changed. Servicing should leave you with a system you actually use.
Keep control of users
Business alarms need individual codes, clean handover when staff leave, and a record of who opened and closed. That can often be restored without a rip-out.
Remote checks where the system allows it
For Texecom and Pyronix systems connected to the manufacturer cloud, we can often look at part of the problem before anyone gets in a van. Sometimes that turns into a phone fix; sometimes it means arriving with the right part.
Police response. We do not provide police-response monitoring or Unique Reference Numbers, because those require NSI or SSAIB certification. We service audible systems with app notifications and we will say plainly if you need a certified monitoring company instead.

Frequently asked questions
Can you service an alarm you did not install?
Yes. A lot of the work is taking over existing alarms, especially when the original installer has gone quiet or the panel is past support.
Can you fix false alarms?
Usually. False alarms are commonly a detector position, a failing battery, a tamper fault or a zone that no longer suits how the property is used.
Can you look at Texecom or Pyronix remotely?
Where the system is set up for the manufacturer cloud, yes. We hold the Texecom and Pyronix cloud portals, so some faults can be checked before a visit.
Next step
Have it looked at properly
Tell us the property and what you want covering. We survey before we quote, and the engineer who walks round the building is the one who installs the system.
